Legend tells that the goddess Artemis (aka Diana) loved to change herself into the shape of a deer and run naked in the forest of Arcadia. The young hunter Aktaeon, thinking her to be normal prey, mistakenly pursued her with his hounds. In punishment Artemis turned Akteon into a stag, to be brought down by his own dogs whilst she was able to escape.

Here the story is explored from Aktaeon's perspective as he expresses the confusion brought on by his change of state and his reverence for the goddess, before confessing his mistake and extorting her to flee whilst the hounds are distracted by the task of his destruction.
